 Soft dumplings(pakodi) for kadhi


Pakodi Kadhi is a popular dish of India. Everyone likes it very much. Kadhi is prepared by mixing gram flour with curd. White plain rice is eaten with kadhi. Kadhi is eaten all over India. The method of making kadhi is different in all the states of India. 

 Somewhere it is made as spinach curry, somewhere as onion curry, somewhere as curd curry, and somewhere as potato spinach curry. There are mainly three types of kadhi such as dumplings(pakodi) kadhi, boondi kadhi and spinach(palak) kadhi, etc. How to make soft pakodis like cotton for pakodi  kadhi will be described.



Ingredients-

For 9 to 10 members-

For dumplings (pakodi)-



2 ladle (big spoon) gram flour ( besan).

A pinch of carom seeds.

1/4 tsp red chilli powder.

1/2 tsp salt.

1½ tbsp mustard oil.

water.

mustard oil for frying.

for kadhi-



2 ladle gram flour.

1 kg churned curd.

2 tbsp mustard oil.

1 spoon cumin seeds.

4 cloves.

2 to 3 whole red chillies.

1/2 spoon Fenugreek seeds(Dana methi).

1 spoon turmeric powder.

1 spoon Red chilli powder.

1/2 spoon asafoetida (hing).

salt to taste.

water.

tadka for kadhi-

  1. 2 spoon mustard oil.

1/4 spoon cumin seeds.

A pinch of turmeric powder.

A pinch of asafoetida.

1/4 tsp red chilli powder.

method-

 Add all the spices and oil to the gram flour and mix well.Now prepare the batter by adding a little water. Now, whisk by hands for five to 6 minutes until the besan become light colored. Heat mustard oil on high heat. When the oil is hot, fry the dumplings on medium heat till they turn golden brown. When the dumplings fry, take them out in a plate. Now prepare to make Kadhi. To make Kadhi, churn the curd and prepare a thin batter by adding water to the gram flour. Now pour mustard oil in a big bhagoni. When the mustard oil becomes hot, add all the spices. Add churned curd, gram flour and water and stir continuously till it comes to a boil. Reduce the gas to a boil and cook for 30 to 35 minutes.After 30 to 35 minutes add dumplings to the curry and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.The pakora kadhi is ready. Now turn off the gas and serve with rice after tempering in the kadhi
